“Our goal was to concentrate on unique flavors to bring something new & fresh to the Missoula dining experience” — that’s how Head Chef, Rosie Gutierrez, prefaces The Top Hat’s winter menu.

“The new menu has recognizable and approachable dishes, but we’ve added our own special twist that you’ll have to come try for yourself.”

This rings especially true with new additions like the Mediterranean Dip Trio, Grilled Pepper Chicken Sandwich, and Sweet Potato Red Curry.

A colorful, aesthetically pleasing appetizer, the Mediterranean Dip Trio (VG) offers a rich and bold selection of whipped peppercorn feta, citrus tapenade and roasted artichoke & spinach hummus served with a generous helping of bite-sized warm naan. This is a great dish to share with the whole table and it’s also vegetarian! But if you’re looking for protein, you’ll love this next new dish…

Made with antibiotic-free Red Bird chicken, the Grilled Pepper Chicken Sandwich features classic ingredients including dressed arugula, red onions and dijon mustard along with a delightfully distinctive apricot pepper chutney.

Full of special twists, the Sweet Potato Red Curry (V, GF, DF) utilizes roasted spaghetti squash instead of rice and provides a robust array of flavors thanks to the ginger arugula salad, pickled fresno chili oil, coconut lime sauce and curry cashew dust. This dish is gluten & dairy free and vegan with tofu. You can also choose between chicken or shrimp.

Other new menu additions include Chorizo Shrimp Tacos, Cherry Balsamic Salad, Spicy Teriyaki Noodle Bowl, Drunken Berry Spice Cake, and Lemon Habanero Cheesecake.

The Cajun Shrimp Andouille Hash already seems to be a staff favorite. It’s a savory combination of roasted fingerling potatoes, red onions, pasilla peppers, cajun-spiced shrimp, Redneck andouille sausage, sweet corn purée, creole sauce, fried over-easy egg and local Farm Hand Farm microgreens. Need we say more?! 

As always, The Top Hat kitchen continues to rely on a “made from scratch” core philosophy and strives to offer fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Some of our local partners include Local Bounti, Mannix Family Farms, Lolo Locker, Stampede Packing Company (Redneck), Farm Hand Farm, Lake Missoula Tea Company, Black Coffee Roasting Co., Big Dipper Ice Cream, Wheat Montana, and Le Petit Bakery.
