Bozeman’s MOTH and STiLGONE Announce Halloween Show at The ELM

Get your costumes ready and prepare to jam with Bozeman’s best! MOTH and STiLGONE are teaming up to deliver an unforgettable night of live music at The ELM on Halloween weekend, Saturday, October 26, 2024!

For 15 years, Moth has been a staple of the Montana jam scene, known for their high-energy performances and a sound that blends electronic, funk, and prog rock. Inspired by artists like STS9 and Disco Biscuits, Moth’s current lineup features talented musicians, Luke Flansburg (guitar and vocals), Joe Kirchner (keys), Jordan Rodenbiker (bass), and Brett Goodell (drums).

Joining them is STiLGONE, another Bozeman-based band with a genre-defying sound that fuses funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, psychedelic rock, and more. Led by songwriter and guitarist Symon Palmer, STiLGONE’s live shows are a journey through intricate soundscapes, infectious grooves, and lyrics that resonate with depth and emotion.

Taking place the Saturday before Halloween proper, we highly encourage everyone to come dressed in your most creative, spooky, or wild costume and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere that will take over The ELM.

About MOTH

MOTH have been a main staple in the Montana jam scene for 15 years. Started by then bassist, Jake Gilmore, MOTH was a side project for a group of Bozeman musicians who were enjoying the sound coming from artists like STS9, Disco Biscuits and The New Deal. The high energy songwriting touches on electronic, funk and a bit of prog rock while creating an empty canvass for the spontaneity of musical improvisation. The bands lineup consists of Luke Flansburg (guitar and vocals), Joe Kirchner (keys), Jordan Rodenbiker (bass) and Brett Goodell (drums).

About STiLGONE

STiLGONE is a Bozeman, MT based band that plays a unique fusion of genres, spanning funk, soul, hip hop, reggae, psychedelic rock and more. While covering so many styles they manage to create a cohesive sound that is uniquely their own. Their live shows are an immersive trip through detailed soundscapes, danceable grooves, and the lyrics of songwriter and guitarist Symon Palmer.

STiLGONE established themselves playing frequent shows at the Zebra Cocktail Lounge, touring nearby towns and local festivals, and supporting major touring acts such as Deltron 3030, and Nappy Roots. In 2021, after a multiple year hiatus, the band reformed with newfound drive, playing their own shows across Montana as well as supporting long time collaborators Desperate Electric, jam giants EGGY, north west funk masters Polyrhythmics and more.

In April of 2022 the band began tracking on their debut Album “B.O.L.O.” which was self produced in collaboration with Mellow Mike of Mountain Muzik. Two tracks from the album were chosen to be released as singles, the first “Doo Wop”, was released on October 19th, 2023 and the second “Paridose”, released on November 23rd, 2023. The album was released on December 23rd, 2023. With loads of unreleased songs in the live repertoire the band is constantly changing up the setlist and adding new fun variations to the live experience. Having recently found time in the Butte Montana
Studio “The DOJO” — hosted by Soul Pop Duo Desperate Electric — it’s hard not to wonder what songs will soon get their own studio release.
