Missoulian Chloe Gendrow will take the stage at The Top Hat for the first time November 30, 2017 as she releases her debut album Glow. Listen to Chloe’s brand new single “I Did” below:

21 year old Chloe Gendrow was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. The singer, songwriter & producer has been crafting melodies and stories for a while now, influenced by the likes of Lykke Li, Jaymes Young, Johnny Cash, SZA, Sky Ferreira, Imogen Heap and The xx.

“I like to write about the feelings that people don’t know how to put into words. The kind of stuff that hopefully evokes a lot of emotion.”

Her debut album, Glow, is an intimate portrayal of the moments caught between 19 and 21, a coming of age project that elicits a feeling that can only be described as the endless magic of a fleeting youth.

Norwell

Norwell Image

If history is what defines how we exist within the world, Norwell’s reality is one of rumor and conjecture. For many, and in most cases, the shape of front man Brady Schwertfeger’s project is amorphous at best; constructed by quip here, whisper there, always as potentiality, never shorter than years. As a recorded entity, digital drums and compressed audio samples pepper Norwell’s songs built around resonant keyboards and simultaneously nearby and far away vocals. Lyrically, it’s a doleful emotional exercise about what’s real and what isn’t, about who, about nothing in particular, but everything all at once.

As a live band, Norwell has devised a notable blend of post-rock, ethereal indie rock, and RnB with the help of local Missoula musicians and full-time multi-platform collaborators Jon Filkins and Sarah Marker (Mendelssohn), James Riach (Catamount, No Fancy), and Sam Ore (Shakewell).

With a debut album on simmer before serve, Norwell’s unveiling promises to be unique. Come with questions of how and why a thing would or should ever come to be now or sometime soon in a place like this or elsewhere, but don’t look back; there are no answers in the past.
