As part of the Logjam Foundations new Community Action Series, Logjam Presents will host a fundraising event for the Clark Fork Coalition at the Top Hat on November 26th where 25% of all food and beverage sales between 6pm – 9pm will be donated to the Clark Fork Coalition. This event will be part of the Logjam Foundation’s Community Action Series – an ongoing series of events dedicated to raising funds and awareness for local non-profit organizations.
About The Clark Fork Coalition
The Clark Fork Coalition has worked to protect and restore Missoula’s beloved Clark Fork River since 1985. We’ve spearheaded large-scale cleanup of toxic mine waste, removed a dangerous dam, reunited the historic Blackfoot-Clark Fork confluence, restored and re-watered hundreds of miles of gorgeous trout streams, and engaged tens of thousands of the basin’s residents in caring for our irreplaceable waters.
Generations of Missoulians have made the important work possible. But river work is never done. The Clark Fork still struggles from the impacts of lingering mine and mill waste and 150 years of industrial use. It faces a challenging future with the accelerating effects of climate change. And booming development in western Montana means many more people turn to the river for drinking water, irrigation, and recreation.
Help keep our river clean, healthy, and resilient by supporting the Clark Fork Coalition’s work to: 1) remove another 50 miles of toxic mining pollution from the river; 2) clean up highly hazardous chemicals in the river and floodplain at the former Smurfit Stone mill site; 3) re-water and restore high-priority trout streams in the Bitterroot and Upper Clark Fork basins; 4) protect clean water from new mines; 5) defend the bedrock water protection laws currently under attack; 6) guide riverside development in ways that sustain the ecological health of our waterways; 7) fight for river-friendly policies and practices; 8) train and inspire the next generation of river stewards with high-quality watershed science programs; and 9) engage thousands of community members in cleaning up and restoring local rivers and streams.
