About Michelle Rivers
Singer-Songwriter Michelle Rivers has called Montana home for the last decade, while she was born and raised in rural middle Tennessee. She draws inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds her in the little town of Eureka, in the remote northwest corner of the state. Her music most closely leans toward the Americana sound, featuring traditional bluegrass instruments and a live performance that is both captivating & raw. The sweetness to her voice and the subtle, yet unbridled energy of her live performance is sure to draw you in. Michelle’s first full-length album, “Breathing on Embers,” released in the summer of 2016 & features A-list Nashville musicians Rob Ickes & Jimmy Mattingly. She’s been a performer at Montana’s Red Ants Pants Music Festival (2016), a two-time scholarship recipient for the Crown of the Continent Guitar Workshop & Festival (2016 & 2017) where she has been mentored by artists such as Jim Messina & Liz Longley. She was the first place winner of the songwriting competition at the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival (2017) & most recently was named among the top 5 in the Flathead’s Got Talent Contest (2019). She is currently making the final preparations to go into the studio to record her sophomore album.
