About The Mad Hat
Once a month, The Mad Hat will turn The Top Hat into Missoula’s premier nightclub, combining top notch production and FX, the finest local and regional DJs and producers, live dancers, and more to create a nightlife experience unlike any other in Montana.
Admittance is $5 at the door (advance tickets not available). An additional $5 surcharge applies to those who are under the age of 21.

Curator of hard hitting, infectious dance music…
That’s how M-AD describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to push the boundaries, aggressively-energetic song selections being his specialty. Hailing from Missoula Montana, he is well known as an extremely versatile performer. You’ve seen him alongside major Hip Hop acts (Brother Ali, Sweatshop Union), world renowned DJs (DJ Craze, DJ Abilities), as well as major EDM acts (Crizzly, Figure, Ghostland Observatory).
In addition to supporting large-scale shows M-AD was part of beginning a residency in Missoula, Drop Culture, that has been a progressive cornerstone of the downtown nightlife for the past four years. At ease commanding any form of dance floor whether it’s a packed nightclub, all night music festival, or even your buddies basement party, if M-AD is on the decks, you are sure to have a good time.
Ill Murray
Hailing from the deep south, Ill Murray moved to Missoula in 2013 and found himself immersed in dance music culture for the first time. Being a drummer since childhood, he naturally gravitated towards rhythmic bass music and found himself wanting to blend the lines between House, Dub, and Trap to create his own unique style.
Starting DJing literally in the underground at The Palace Lounge, Ill Murray went on to headline multiple shows and festivals, eventually working himself into two residencies at local venues, founding a weekly dance party, and playing alongside artists such as Keys N Krates and Minnesota.
This experience moved him to begin producing, and with over 30 thousand plays on Soundcloud, Ill Murray plans on building on his early success with an upcoming bass music EP, alongside remixes of Zedd, Valentino Khan, Yookie, and Post Malone originals.
