Engineer by day and DJ by night, Missoula’s Mark Myriad stays true to his name when he gets behind the decks. A funk, soul and disco lover at heart, Myriad (aka Mark Chumrau) plays a variety of groovy and deep styles, always keeping the vibe fresh. Mark has recently shared the stage with Keys N Crates, Minnesota, Cashmere Cat and AC Slater, and is the resident DJ for downtown Missoula’s Drop Culture every first Friday.

John August is a late-comer to the dance music scene. While in graduate school in Boston he discovered the decompression of dancing in the warehouses of Brooklyn. The techno-driven communities of ReSolute, Bushwick A/V, Brooklyn Social, and Member’s Only were an oasis to the dusty libraries of Harvard Divinity School and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. While never fully aligning with the ideology of the scene, John has always agreed with the power of dance and play.

He moved to Missoula, Montana in August 2016 and soon longed for the sound of Brooklyn and the energy of it’s dance music community. He began DJing and started a production and promotion company, August Entertainment, organizing underground dance events under the name “minimal”. Over the past two years John has booked and played alongside artists from New York, started the Missoula Open Decks Society for young DJs, and now plays house and techno weekly at Plonk Wine Bar and Michi Ramen Bar.

John has come to be known for his deep groove and melodic sound, building to explosive crescendos that fill the room with rich and energetic bass.

Most of the genres I have played with are mostly Bass house and House music, just recently I have started playing around with chill house and more of a deep house vibe that I’ve been working on, but most of my music that I have been working on are mostly Bass house and G house. I started making and spinning music about 6 years ago, it took off for me. That’s when I knew. I was like hell yeah, I love this feeling. It’s been on hell of a ride to where I have come from and I continue to push boundaries with music.

I’ve had the pleasure of spinning music at such venues as, Palace Lounge, Monks, Stage 112, the basement of Stage 112, Badlander.

Music festivals I’ve had the pleasure of spinning at Mount Olympus, Neon City, Shine, Shani Moon and Arts Festival, Bear Mouth Music Festival, Pirate Party, Disco Blood Bath, and Alien Abduction.
