About ZACC: Rock Camp

ZACC Rock Camps are a cornerstone of our Youth Education experience. First ideated and implemented in 2014 by Kia Liszak, ZACC Rock Camps build kids’ self esteem through personal music exploration. Regardless of musical experience, campers receive instrument instruction on all the essential elements of a rock band: drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and vocals. During their week at camp, they form a band and name it, write an original song, screen print their own band T-shirts, and ultimately perform their song in front of a live audience at the end of the week.

The ZACC is beyond excited and so grateful to Logjam Presents for hosting three of our Rock Camp Performances at The Wilma this summer! Friday, June 30 will feature Boys Rock Camp; Friday, July 21 will feature Coed Rock Camp I; Friday, August 4 will feature Coed Rock Camp II. All band names are TBA, as they will be formed the week of each performance.

The Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) is Missoula’s dynamic non-profit arts center and supports families, local and regional artists, performing artists, musicians, and creative spirits by being as transparent and open in our practices as possible, and by being a safe, open, inclusive space in which all community members and visitors can comfortably create, collaborate, and thrive. The ZACC provides accessible arts experiences of all kinds for people of all ages – including classes and camps, gallery shows, local and touring music, theatre, and comedy performances, community events, and drop-in creativity opportunities. Our artists’ shop, paint-your-own-pottery studio, and three galleries are open seven days a week, and we present multiple performances per week in our venue, The Show Room.
