About Victor Wooten

Five time Grammy Award winning musician Victor Wooten has been called the most influential bassist since Jaco Pastorius. He is a master innovator of the bass guitar, gifted composer, arranger, producer, vocalist, multi instrumentalist and founding member of Béla Fleck & The Flecktones. Never satisfied with the status quo, Vic is always growing as a person, artist, teacher and always willing to share his gifts with all who desire to learn. His legendary live shows continues the tradition of funkified virtuosity forged by James Brown, Funkadelic and Prince. Wooten has won the “Bass Player of the Year” award from Bass Player magazine three times in a row, and was the first person to win the award more than once. In 2011, he was named #10 in the “Top 10 Bassists of All Time” by Rolling Stone.*
