Artist Feature: Town Mountain’s Bluegrass Spiced Country, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Boogie-Woogie
Raw, soulful, and with plenty of swagger, North Carolina’s Town Mountain continues to make a name for themselves with their thrilling live performances and special mix of bluegrass spiced with country, old school rock ‘n’ roll, and boogie-woogie. The Bend Bulletin’s Brian McElhiney says Town Mountain, “has serious country and rock ’n’ roll DNA.”
Town Mountain’s newest album, New Freedom Blues, was released in 2018 and features several guest artists including Tyler Childers, Miles Miller (Sturgill Simpson, drummer), and others. Glide Magazine reviewed the album, saying, “Hats off to Town Mountain for finding that balance where they’ve retained the adept picking and harmonies that established them while stretching their sound to fold in some new elements.”
