Led by founding front man and songwriter, Leroy Virgil, Hellbound Glory formed in 2008 in Reno, NV. Virgil, originally from Aberdeen, WA, explains the city’s impact on his material, saying, “I grew up in a hick-town by a lot of peoples standards. Reno is just a hick-town with taller buildings and brighter lights. Playing Reno is like playing a 24-hour dive bar. No matter where I play, I’m never too far from home.”
The band received an exclusive invitation to perform as a member of the Kid Rock Chillin’ The Most Cruise roster in 2012. This led to their inclusion as support on Kid Rock’s Rebel Soul Tour in arenas across the country. In 2014, they opened for Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Leon Russell, for a selection of east coast dates in January.
Hellbound Glory has released four full length albums: Scumbag Country (2008), Old Highs & New Lows (2010), and Damaged Goods (2011), and Pinball (2017). LA Weekly ranked them #2 on their list of “10 Country Artists You Should Be Listening To” and further described them “…as evoking the energy of the wildest party Waylon, Willie and Bocephus ever had.”
