Old Crow Medicine Show Announce Concerts with Willie Watson at KettleHouse Amphitheater and The ELM

Influential, award-winning Americana band, Old Crow Medicine Show, will return to Montana in 2023, performing at KettleHouse Amphitheater near Missoula on July 11th and The ELM in Bozeman on July 12th.  Both shows will feature support from their old friend and founding Old Crow member Willie Watson.

Old Crow Medicine Show have come a long way since they were discovered by Doc Watson busking on the streets of North Carolina in 2000. The band has received a plethora of awards including a CMT Music Award for their self-titled debut, a “Trailblazer Award” from the Americana Music Association, and two Grammy’s — one for Best Long Form Music Video (Big Easy Express) and for Best Folk Album (Remedy). The band was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012. Their mega hit “Wagon Wheel” a song co-written by Bob Dylan and band frontman Ketch Secor, has received double platinum certification.

Marcus Mumford has credited Old Crow’s influence saying that they were the band to make him “…fall in love with country music.” Jed Hilly, Executive Director of the Americana Music Association noted the significance of Old Crow as Americana revivalists, stating “The baton is passed from Emmylou Harris to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings to Old Crow Medicine Show to the Avett Brothers.”

Old Crow absolutely blew the crowds away during their Montana run in 2022 (photos) and we know they’ll do it again… Especially now that Willie Watson will be lending his talents to the performance!

About Old Crow Medicine Show

Old Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998, from New York state and up through Canada, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival, MerleFest, and the rest is history.

It’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry, and have won two Grammy Awards: “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013). Additionally, their classic single, “Wagon Wheel”, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2,000,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold (500,000 copies).  The band’s latest release is Live At The Ryman (2019) which was released on Columbia via The Orchard. Old Crow Medicine Show’s latest endeavor was the Hartland Hootenanny, a variety show hosted on You Tube that featured music, storytelling, special guests, socially distanced square dancing and more.
