Opiuo Announces Return to Missoula and Bozeman in Spring 2024
New Zealand-bred, Australia-based electronic producer, Opiuo, will return to Montana for two concerts this Spring 2024, and both shows are on 4/20 weekend! He’ll headline The Wilma in Missoula on Friday, April 19th and The Elm in Bozeman on Saturday, April 20th. Fellow electronic artist Potions will open for each performance. In addition, Freddy Todd will open at The Wilma and Tiedye Ky will open at The ELM.
Opiuo is an award-winning veteran producer, multi-instrumentalist, and pioneer of the glitch-hop genre. Get a taste of his signature sound and check out these tracks: “Jelly,” “On Your Side,” and “Robo Booty.”
Since his start in the late 2000s, he’s released 5 full-length albums, 10 EPs, and a myriad of singles. His album, Meraki, won the New Zealand Music Award for Best Electronic Album in 2014. He received another nomination for the same award in 2016 for his album Omniversal. In 2022, Opiuo released his latest studio album, A Shape of Sound. Last year, he released the live recording from Red Rocks, Opiuo & The Opulent Orchestra.

About Opiuo
Opiuo is a genre-bending plethora of auditory and visual masterclasses. Born in 1984 in rural New Zealand, his parents provided the land upon which music festivals were held. This extremely formative growth surrounded by the early incarnations of Aotearoa’s electronic music scene exposed him to the celebration of life through self-expression, dance, and giant sound systems. These experiences shaped so much of who he is & what he stands for today. Positivity and movement at the core of the project, his music is an infectious electronic-based blend of funk, soul, psychedelia, and booty-shaking bass.
