About Nahko and Medicine For The People

Nahko And Medicine For The People continue to gather dedicated members of their global Medicine Tribe of likeminded fans as they spread their positive and powerful musical message around the world. Fans and critics alike praise the group’s worldly blend of rock, hip-hop, and alt-folk with OC Weekly calling the group “empowering” and “powerful”, while The Huffington Post compared Nahko to Bob Marley and called him a “musical prophet”. The October 2017 album ‘My Name is Bear’ premiered at #1 on iTunes and debuted on a number of Billboard charts, and the headline tour in support of the album boasted multiple sold-out dates throughout the USA and Europe. ‘My Name Is Bear’ is a 16-track collection that reflects the soul, authenticity, and spirit that Nahko And Medicine For The People’s Medicine Tribe has come to know and love. Their previous album ‘HOKA’, which was released in June 2016, sold over 8,000 units in its first week in the U.S. and debuted at #6 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart. The album went on to win Record of the Year at the Native American Music Awards later that year.

Nahko And Medicine For The People are firm believers in using music as a tool of empowerment to protect and preserve all of creation. They aim to inspire others to take a deeper role in protecting and preserving our planet, people, and the spirit in all of creation.

Nahko And Medicine For The People will be releasing new music and touring extensively both domestically and internationally in 2019!

Nattali Rize

Nattali Rize at the Wilma

Ask her where she comes from and she’ll tell you “All directions.” It’s an apt description of a singer who defies boundaries; culturally, musically and spiritually. The Nattali Rize debut album “Rebel Frequency” hit the streets in March 2017 to high acclaim, impacting worldwide charts & hearts! Known for their epic, high energy, thought provoking and uplifting live performances, with a new album dropping and global tour schedule, the international powerhouse band (Australia/Jamaica) delivers a raw energy and vibe, channeling a deep reggae influence in a New Era Style. But this is more than genre labels. The music, message & intention transcends, forget the borders and waters that divide us, the movement is to ignite the great remembrance of who we are, our collective power, what we can be, to break the mental conditioning and find full freedom in this lifetime. Get ready to be moved!

“Nattali is a bright light in the world with a vision that extends beyond the stage.” Michael Franti (Spearhead)

“They Present as an Army on a mission!”  – Deb Kloeden

“One of the nation’s most refreshing voices” – Rolling Stone

“INFECTIOUS!”– NPR

Nattali Rize is recognised globally for her unwavering commitment to using her voice and music for the global shift toward Full Freedom and the movement of Truth and Justice over the systemic exploitation of the people and our planet. The Nattali Rize project launched out of Jamaica into the US, EU and beyond in 2015 with a strong run of captivating festival performances and national club shows. Now with tours alongside the likes of Michael Franti and Spearhead, Protoje, Katchafire, Third World, J-Boog, Julian Marley, Tribal Seeds, Common Kings, Trevor Hall and more under their belt, the worldwide movement is ever rizing!

The term ‘social change’ is not quite enough for Nattali, her thinking is more along the lines of “full systemic overhaul!” with Rebel Frequency Nattali declares “We’re here to deliver a different frequency to what is being transmitted by the current world system and culture of consumerism and mental slavery.”

“Our intention with our music is to ignite that memory in ourselves of our individual and collective power to live life to the fullest and recognise our selves and each other as evolving beings of light. A reality of Full Freedom is a possibility on this earth and in these times. We use music to sound frequencies infused with this idea, and to resonate at a higher level than what is currently being permeated across current world culture. People are powerful; we want them to reclaim that power and no longer be servants to a system that has never, and will never, serve them to their fullest potential. As such, our frequency in this system is a rebel …  Rebel Music, Rebel Frequencies we deal with!” – Nattali Rize.
