Rootz Within promotes positivity, community & personal growth through relatable lyrics & catchy hooks. Delivered with their signature easy-going island style, they combine elements of rock, funk, and jamband-like improvisation with a smooth reggae foundation.
Formed in Hawaii & based in Minnesota, Rootz Within has performed across 9 states (HI, OR, WA, ID, MT, ND, IA, MN & WI) including two tours on Hawaii & Maui islands and two more to the Pacific Northwest. Inspired by their time in Hawaii, Rootz Within‘s debut album, Aloha Aina, was released in summer 2017 and is available across multiple online streaming platforms. Their sophomore album, Incrementum, was recorded at the world-renowned Pachyderm Recording Studio and released on June 30, 2022.
Rootz Within has performed with international reggae legends Alborosie (Italy), Clinton Fearon (Jamaica), and Luciano (Jamaica); as well as Mike Love, Chris Berry, Indubious, Tropidelic, Nattali Rize, Natty Nation, Kyle Smith, and John Wayne & the Pain, among many others. Also, they opened the 17th Annual Bayfront Reggae & World Music Festival (Duluth, MN — with Luciano, Stonebwoy, Alison Hinds, Konshens, and Dred I Dread) this summer.
