About Jonny’s Day Out

Jonny’s Day Out crafts a unique blend of ambient indie rock that oscillates between blaring guitars, cinematic horn passages, softly sung ballads, and dreamy soundscapes. Formed by singer-guitarist Avery Haines and multi-instrumentalist Eli Goldberg, known for his ambient project Ann Annie, the duo expanded to include drummer Will Dowden, bassist Blu Midyett, and trumpet/keyboard player Jude Abare. Their debut EP, Please Excuse Our Mess, recorded with producer Graham Jonson (aka quickly, quickly), showcases their dynamic range and experimental approach. A distinctive element of their identity is the bunny mask, a symbol that emerged during recording sessions and has become emblematic of their artistic persona.
