Lil Smokies Release Last SnowGhost Single with Ode to Tom Petty

Montana’s bluegrass mainstay The Lil Smokies have released their last SnowGhost single — a fantastic take on Tom Petty’s “Learning to Fly.

Smokies made a heartfelt Instagram post about the release saying:

“Some artists, even after their time to move on has come, never die. @tompettyofficial is certainly one of them. We hope you’ll enjoy our take on one of our favorite tunes of his.”

“Learning to Fly” is the sixth and final SnowGhost single The Lil Smokies will release. All the SnowGhost singles were recorded in one day at the SnowGhost Music studio in Whitefish, MT with engineer Brett Allen (The Avett Brothers, Kris Kristofferson) and assistant engineer Jerry Sandler.

Now the Lil Smokies are gearing up for their next release, Live at the Bluebird, slated to drop June 7th.

Make sure to catch The Lil Smokies live at the KettleHouse Amphitheater this summer when they open for Greensky Bluegrass on June 28, 2019.
